Our Journey to Aeryn Elisabeth
Well we had a great day today.  At breakfast we met a lovely couple, Michael and Nancy Herde from New Canaan CT.  I was crying and moaning about my aching knees (from the Great Wall Fiasco) and I think Nancy was eavesdropping (but in a good way) and  the next thing you know we were chatting up a storm.  It's funny we had to travel halfway around the world to meet some nice people that live just a short distance from our actual house.

Today's itineray was to go out and do some shopping which I really compare to the experience of getting root canal without novocaine.  But we need to keep the wife happy right, and we also needed to get gifts for all the folks we left behind taking care of our kids.  I won't say more than that so they won't know what we got them.
Where can I find the nearest 7-11?
We setup Michael and Nancy with Christine so
they wouldn't have to pay a ton of money to do
some of the tours we did much cheaper.
Home of Big Bargains
We ended up here at the local department store.
Lots of stuff to buy and 1 whole floor devoted to
jewelry
The Scene of the Crime
Okay so if you know my wife she likes to shop.
She scoped out every single jewelry store and picked this
place out of the 6 or 7 other stores that were out there.  The owner is very nice and he gave me water and pepsi's while the wife frittered the hours away doing her thing.
Tahititan Pearls
Apparently these are what make D a happy girl.  They are huge
they are dark and they are expensive.  I kinda recall Denise looking these babies over in Hawaii while we were on our honeymoon but there were very pricey over there on the big island.  But in China they were kinda reasonable...
After the High Pitched Negotiations
Okay so D did a good job negotiating and at the end of the day she did well and nobody died.  In fact, these 3 even decided to get together for a nice photo.  We think these folks did well by us and D got enough stuff here for almost all the folks who are looking after Ethan and Isabella.  Do we recommend Xia Fei?
Yes.....next time you're in China just say "Denise sent you"
She's the Queen of the Flutes
This young lady sells wind instruments.  Not only that she also plays them.  We picked up a type of  chinese recorder that is not only nice to listen to but is also decorative and very stylish.
She was very nice and she played for us while they got the instrument we bought  prepared.
Shopping Scoopage:
Yes there were many bargains to be had at the local department store.
They had everything from Mont Blanc Pens to iPhones....the only thing you need to know is that much of their wares are fakes.....the prices are good but you need to be careful with what you buy.  For instance their Mont Blancs were very light in comparison to the real ones and their iPhones were 4x  thicker than a real one.

There were some great bargains too.  For example I got a great suitcase (to hold some of our new souvenirs) that cost us only $20.00.  Great Price...and for $20.00 you can't go wrong.

The rest of the day was uneventful.  We did do dinner with the Herde's but unfortunately the jet lag caught up with me and I was falling asleep at the table (sorry guys).  Perhaps we'll get together when we're all back in CT.  This time I'll bring a pillow in case I decide to crash at dinner....at least that way my head won't leave a mark on your table when I doze off.
