Our Journey to Aeryn Elisabeth
100 Wishes Quilt for Aeryn
In anticipation of our trip and our return home, we
would like to ask friends and family to participate
in a quilt project.

This quilt has become very popular in the Chinese
adoption community as a way to honor our daughters' heritage and give her a sense of history.  As Aeryn  comes to us at an age of a toddler, with no personal history at all, it would be nice to create something especially for her that she can in turn keep and cherish.

It will always remind her of all the people that thought and prayed for her safe arrival into our family.
Should you wish to participate in our "100 Good Wishes Quilt Project" please send a piece of cotton fabric no smaller than 8" x 8" of your choosing.  I would suggest that the fabric be washed prior to cutting it to prevent further shrinkage and fraying.

The fabric can be a special piece of clothing; it can have special significance to you; it can be something representing Asian culture or any fabric that you just love.

THE WISH:  This is the best part of the whole project!  Send a decorated page or plain page (no bigger than 8" x 8" inches) containing a written good wish, a bible quote, or poem for Aeryn with a scrap of your fabric attached to the paper.

You can make your wish as simple or elaborate as you would like. Please remember to sign your wish,  include if you are a family relation, friend, etc. as well as your city and state.  These written wishes will be collaborated in an album for our daughter so that they will always be remembered.
Once we are home, Cary and I will load up pictures of all the squares and good wishes we receive so that everyone can enjoy them.

Thankfully Newtown has a quilt store that I think that I will use to assemble the project once all of the pieces have come in.
