Our Journey to Aeryn Elisabeth

Well the big day has finally arrived and Aeryn is with us safe and sound.  The whole process was very scary.

The caretakers come by your hotel, drop off your daughter then they leave.  Then you take the screaming baby to your room where she continues screaming until she finally stops. 

Aeryn was interesting. She screamed for about 90 minutes all the while looking for a way to escape the room.  Eventually she got hungry and ate a cookie after which she started to choke a little.  D got her some water than poof...no more screaming.  In fact, the two of them are like two peas in a pod.

In China, the whole process takes a day to get the official adoption decree.  We got ours at 5:00p today.The rest of the week we need to get her other travel docs ready then we're off to Guangzhou and home.

Having a Tough Time

Aeryn pretty much stayed away from us.  Eventuallly the nurse left and we took Aeryn to our room.  She immediately started screaming and tried to open the door to the room.  D stood between the door and Aeryn until she finally calmed down.....whoa....this stuff was definitely tougher than our first adoption.

We brought some toys out for Aeryn to play with and these little gems came in handy.  Eventuallly D taught her  all the colors of the blocks....she is very smart

Okay hard part's over

Eventually Aeryn came over to the bed and she drank some milk.  Of course the screaming stopped after about 90 min and to tell you the truth I was scared that she'd never stop.......
