Our Journey to Aeryn Elisabeth
I think I can speak for all of us when I say I think we are ready to come home. Now that we have Aeryn, the real reason to be in Chongqing is done. There's not a whole lot of stuff to do here but shop , eat or sleep which as luck would have it are 3 of my least favorite things to do.
But Aeryn has been full of life and she's been really great bonding with D and warming up to me on occasion. She hates sleeping and she's constantly bopping up and down. She's quite the little devil.
Today we went to the Flying Tigers War Museum and then did some shopping for Aeryn. A whole lot more on that will be in the picture part of the blog. So Happy Halloween everybody. Stay good and don't eat too much candy.
I'm not a Baby Dragon...I poop all the time
Yes, thankfully Aeryn comes to us fully willing and able to go to the washroom by herself. I've never seen a 2 yr old with such a strong bladder....she sleeps throughout the night and doesn't spill a drop.
"Not Only Do I Poop but I'm quite Photogenic too"
She'll hate me in the future but I think these potty shots are quite cute....perhaps I'll show them at her wedding during my toast...that'll be a crowd pleaser.
Flying Tiger War Museum
The Flying Tiger's were an all - volunteer air force squadron that assisted China in its war against Japan. They helped secure China's supply lines and were instrumental in nullifying Japan's air superiority.
Dedicated Speaker
This poor woman gave us a nice little speach on the museum and the history of the Flying Tigers. It would have been really good too if we could hear her as her previous group was still there talking up a storm. She didn't miss a beat though and kept on going.
Saying Good Bye to the General
Chennalt was the leader of the Flying Tigers. China really venerated the team and especially General Chennault.
Professor and His Paintings
To raise money for the museum they have artists creating and selling their art. Here an artist is creating a traditional Chinese Water picture.
Standing Outside the Flying Tigers Museum
Here we are waiting for the taxi to pick us up after our little run to the Tigers Museum.
Downtown Chongqing
This is a picture of downtown Chongqing. In the background is the Harbor Plaza Hotel and its surrounded by all kinds of department stores.
It makes alot of sense to stay here since you can get around by foot and do a ton of shopping. Cars can't get you since the roads around here are pretty much just 1 large sidewalk...but then again you couldn't beat our deal on Hotels ($0.00 for our stay because of points)
If you don't have points and have to pay then I would probablly book here.
Mannequin or Character Out of Batman?
I guess this is how Chinese people see Americans. Big eyes and big mouths with big wallets.
Feeding Frenzy at the Shopping Mall
Another blue light special and wham instant crowd. These ladies were drawn to this sale like white on rice. Remember ladies its clothing not Love.....
"I See Dead People"
Ummmm yeah.....and I want to wear what she's wearing because I'm in a catatonic trance too?
A Girl and Her Pig
Yes Aeryn was drawn to the pink pig at the department store. Heck it is about the only thing she is taller than around here so I guess that made the pig special or maybe she liked it because it is pink...
