Day 7 - Pretty In Pink?!?!
Hey folks,

Welcome back.  Well this episode is entitled "Pretty In Pink" mainly because of our afternoon visit which we'll get to shortly..  But I thought I'd start off by showing
this remarkable sequence of shots.  I took them this morning in our 1st visit of the day.  After shadowing Ethan for a few minutes I noticed him making a bee-line to
this ladder....the next thing I see is this little kid pull himself up then stand, then turn towards me.  I thought it was kind of neat....according to my baby book this behaviour is called "cruising"....and here I thought "cruising" was something you do when you want to pickup a girl....I stand corrected...

Well on this fine day we travel to the baby house and we also make a side visit to
Sasha and Natasha's (Sasha is also a driver) house to do some souvenir shopping.  Natasha is the place to go to get Dream Quilts and Silk paintings.  Needless to say Cary's wallet gets a bit smaller AGAIN today.  But I was pleased with our acquisitions...watch upcoming updates for some pics of the stuff we got today.
C
What a site...
So D and I go into the Baby House for
our 2nd visit of the day....when Ethan
comes trotting out in some lil pink number.  Not sure if the ladies did this on purpose or not...but I figure I'll keep it around in case I need to embarass the boy at some point in the future....
Auuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh!
Here the boy catches his reflection
in a mirror.  Yep, What did we learn?
Always check the outfit your caregiver
plans for you to wear before they deck
you out in it.
Mmmmmwwwwaaa....I'm free, free
Ethan tears off his hat and makes a
break for it....That's my boy....
I hate the chili flavored teethers
Looks like the little one bit off more than she can chew.

Look Ma No Hands...
Kids I'm a trained professional...please don't try this yourself at home.
Plastic Apples are Low Fat.

Ethan AKA Sean Penn Strikes Back
Taking a page out of Sean Penn's book
you strike out at any one who pokes a
camera in your face.

Stolen Binkies taste best
Ugh...I think Isabella had tuna for breakfast....
Executing evasive manuever #125
This boy was made to run....Here I am
trying to catch the boy and return him to
the blanket...and he veers under some
chairs to evade capture.

Can I see your pass please?
Emerging on the other side...he attempts to cross back
into the blankie side of the room.
Almost got that last piece of peanut butter

What to eat if you live in Almaty?
Eat this if you are a Baby
Nutricia is found in the Ramstore.
Drink this if you like good juice
Again found in the Ramstore....we bought
10 different flavors....incredible stuff
Eat this if you like good bread
The Ramstore has a great bakery. This
loaf costs about 33cents...not too bad....
Nutricia for Adults
Russian beer.....This brand is very good.  They
offer different tastes denoted by numbers on the
front....So far I've worked my way upto 3....
I like 3.
A Peak In Our Shopping Basket
Here's a couple more souvenirs we picked up between yesterday and today....
Mahrushka (sp?)
You can buy these at Tsum's.  Go to the 3rd Floor
and look before you buy.  They have every variety you
should ever want....The one we have here has 10 interlocking dolls...we bought one other one that has 15!!!
But this one is just a goregeous looking piece....
Dreamquilts
We picked up 3 of these today at Natasha's house.
A dreamquilt is stiched by hand and according to my.
sources were used to line the insides of the Kazak
Tents (Urta)  Kind of like 3d wallpaper I guess....We got
two for the kids to remember their heritage and one for
us...I figure I can wrap myself up in one on those chilli
nights in front of the tv.....I'm sure D wouldn't mind  :p
