Day 15 - "Happily Ever After Starts Today...."
On The Way To Breakfast....Yum
I took abit of liberty with the title to day 15.  This quote
was taken from our guestbook...if you want to find out
who said it- then go to the guestbook and find out
and while you're there make sure you sign it too!
Just my way of coaxing you guys.....lol

"Driving Ms Denise"
Here's "The Man" Vitaly doin his job....Again we
can't express how he made our stay in Almaty very pleasurable.  Thanks Again Vitaly!!!

"Oh God...I Need A Drink
A pic of my two girls going into a Pub at 10:30 in the
morning.  We didn't go for the booze though....really.  The Dublin pub has the best breakfast food.....3 eggs prepped the way you want it for only 950 tenge.....about $6.00!!!
"MMMMMMMMM....Good Tea"
Here Isabella does a taste test on some
Lipton's Yellow Tea....mmmm mmmm
good.
"Only In Europe You Say....Pity"
We're not sure if you can get this in North
America...but we'll have to do a search...
this stuff was delicious.
The Green Church
Here's a picture of a very beautiful church.  It's not as pretty as the other one we saw from the outside....but inside was another story....
The Green Church...Again
Vitaly told us that the other church was just prettier....but after we went inside we
were literally blow away by the artwork and feel of the place.
The Green Church....One Last Time.
Of course by now you will have noticed that it snowed down here again.  We were enjoying a bit of a warm spell down here....but that changed this morning with this cold smushy snow.

The Big Chandelier
These Old Russian Churches have the
largest chandelier's in the main room of
every church.
Deep in Prayer
The feeling you get in this church was
just very very different than the last
church
Mural on The Main Wall
Just one of many murals on this church....Unfortunately
we couldn't shoot all of the murals because the available
light just wasn't good enough and my tripod was in the
apartment.  I know what you're thinking though...nope
Flash is a NO-NO....it is actually harmful to the pigment
in the paint.  I learned this in 1983 when I went to the
Louvre.....
Big J on The Ceiling
This is an incredible piece of artwork on the ceiling of
Jesus.  What I plan to do when I get home is "stitch"
together this photo and the chandelier photo to make
one big huge photograph ....this will give a good idea
of what this picture really looks like....By the way....the
hi-res shot of this is freaking spectacular!!!!
Day 14
Pics
Day 16
Pics
"Are We Awake Yet?"
Oh Yeah....this was good tea....
"Why Drink It When You Can Chew It?"
ummmmm.....yeah....She's cute though.
Incredible Atmosphere
This church had people inside of it and there was a service going on inside of it.  The music was very beautiful
The Tabernacle
What we didn't know was that the service going on was
a funeral....if I had known I certainly wouldn't be taking
pictures.  I felt bad after I found out.  But my camera
was set to silent mode (digital is really a good thing) and
I used Young Ethan's head as a makeshift tripod...so I
was as discrete as I could be...
Another Mural...with the Chandelier in the foreground
Here's another view of the church .....
Talk Show at the Ram Store
Every so often they clear the ice out at the Ram Store....and put in.....a talk show. The guy in the foreground owns the Ram
Store....by the way...if you want a Kaz Flag...get it at the Ramstore....in the books and Stationery department.....they are
folded amongst the books....4000 tenge a piece. There were 3 more left when we went through there.  Also you can buy some great books here for the kids.....Kaz bedtime stories in 3 different languages....they cost less at the big bookstore but for 250 tenge you can't lose.
Talk Amongst the Pizza
Here D talks to Jody.  We went out to
Venezia Pizza with the rest of the Almaty
Gang.
So what are you lookin at?
Isabella modelling Lisa's hat.
Save Some For Me....
Ethan reaches out for some more Brewski....I was trying to hold him back to just 2 pints....but Kaz kids...what can you do....
First Taste of Ice Cream
Isabella looks like a little bird as she samples a little bit of ice cream.  We just gave her a taste but she was just really funny to watch...After this, she kept opening her mouth anytime we came near her....
The Almaty Gang...
From left to Right
Cary and Ethan, Mike Jurgens, Jaimey and Lisa White & Isabella and Jody Jurgens.....D was taking the picture....nice shot babe
